This morning, your local Town Beat Officers joined forces with the Environment Agency for a joint patrol along the River Medway, covering the stretch from Allington through to Tovil. As part of this operation, officers were out on the water supporting the Environment Agency in tackling issues affecting the river and those who use it responsibly. During the patrol, a boat that had been abandoned and was not compliant with the required registration and insurance regulations was identified and seized. Joint patrols such as these help to keep the River Medway safe, clean and accessible for legitimate users, including boat owners, anglers, paddleboarders, kayakers and other members of the community who enjoy the river responsibly. We would like to remind everyone of the importance of river safety, ensuring vessels are correctly registered and insured, and helping to protect our local waterways by reporting abandoned vessels, pollution, anti-social behaviour or other concerns. By working together, we can help preserve the River Medway for everyone to enjoy.
